At Meraki, reflection is an important part of progress. Our team has taken time to revisit and make updates to our Truth and Reconciliation Action Plan, reaffirming our commitments.
Grounded in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), this plan continues to guide our work across all divisions.
Originally launched in Spring 2023, our Truth and Reconciliation Action Plan was created as a guiding document for learning, fostering understanding, and advancing reconciliation with purpose. It was developed with the following intentions:
- To position and prepare Meraki to understand our role, both as a company and as individuals, in actively moving forward toward reconciliation.
- To recognize that reconciliation is everyone’s responsibility, beginning with leadership.
- To acknowledge that building positive and meaningful relationships with First Nations communities requires our entire organization to live up to our values and commitments.
- To become better partners to communities and help facilitate and support positive change.
Two years later, the impact of the plan has exceeded our expectations. It has strengthened our organization and deepened relationships with Indigenous communities.
Our second Truth and Reconciliation Action Plan builds on this foundation. It reflects on our progress, celebrates our successes, and identifies where continued effort is needed. We remain committed to transparency, accountability, and trust-building as we continue this journey.
“By building out our Truth and Reconciliation Action Plan, we are reinforcing our commitments to the work that we’ve always prided ourselves on and are openly challenging ourselves to do more.”
– Ben Hoy, CEO
