Forbidden Mechanical expands into Grande Prairie and Peace River

The acquisition of Bradvin Group expands parts and service offerings into Alberta.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: January 15, 2025

[Courtenay, British Columbia]: Forbidden Mechanical, a division of Meraki Resources, today announced the acquisition of Bradvin Group of Companies, which includes Bradvin Trailers in Grande Prairie, Truck Tex HD and Peace Truck and Trailer in Peace River.

This acquisition allows for growth in Alberta and opens additional opportunities to support the oil and gas industry, mining, forestry, and construction. The new locations also allow the company to be better positioned to support Meraki Resource companies operating in north central-central BC and northwestern Alberta.

Bradvin Trailer and Truck Tex HD will continue operating under their current names, ensuring the same trusted service you’ve come to rely on, only with greater buying power and enhanced supplier connections and as a result we will re-establish Traction Heavy Duty Parts stores at both locations.

“We are excited to expand our service offerings into the Grande Prairie and Peace River regions with a talented team who will remain with us through the ownership change,” shares Matt Enns, General Manager of Forbidden Mechanical. “This expansion allows us to deliver greater value to vital industries such as oil and gas, mining, forestry, and construction. We’re not just adding locations; we’re investing in sustainable growth, strengthening our community partnerships, and maintaining the exceptional service and dedication that our customers and employees have come to expect. “

“We see a good synergy with Bradvin as we expand more into the Grande Prairie and Peace River regions to expand our offerings,” says Kevin Playfair, VP of Operations, South at Meraki Resources. “The Grande Prairie community has been supportive as we’ve expanded our logging contracting services into Aberta, and this move further connects to the talent in the province as well as the industries we are well positioned to support.”

“Bradvin has been a local business in the Peace River region for over 45 years, and I am confident our customers will enjoy the same quality of service with the new ownership and added support of Meraki,” shares Brad Willsey, Founder of the Bradvin Group. “The Bradvin team is excited to be part of the company’s growth, and I’m looking forward to a successful transition knowing the customers will be supported for their needs as they have over the years.”
